(Languages of this post: Interlingua, English)

(Io publica iste textos in quatro locos differente in le Rete pro rationes de securitate. Io spera que si le textos in Blogger eventualmente disapparera, pro exemplo, illos totevia esserea disponibile in Wordpress.

Mi strategia esseva primo immagasinar in “Interlingua in interlingua” le textos publicate in “Panorama” sur le scientia e viages.

(Harleigh Kyson Jr.)

---

There are now a lot of texts in “Interlingua multilingue” that can be used for new courses of instruction in Interlingua and its source languages.

An especially useful way of using these texts is to present them side-by-side in columns. To make them especially useful, the first lines of each paragraph should start on the same line in the columns.

As I edit the texts for “Interlingua multilingue,” I now put them into a table format, which is rather easy to do with Microsoft Word. When these texts are in table form, I can compare them very easily on the screen of my computer as I edit them.

Some texts of “Interlingua multilingue” have already been used in this way. For example, I have found on the Net my “Notas sur le literatura espaniol” in a bilingual table in interlingua and Spanish prepared by Josu Lavin.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how to prepare bi- and tricolumnar presentations for use in Blogger and Wordpress blogs.

(I am publishing these texts in four different places on the Net for security reasons. I hope that if my Blogger texts eventually disappear, for example, they will still be available on Wordpress. All these texts texts are stored on sites maintained by large companies that offer their services at no cost.

(The companies that I have used which offer these services are Google, Yahoo, and Wordpress, and I am confident that it is highly unlikely that the texts of “Interlingua multilingue,” stored in this way, will completely disapper from cyberspace [“Interlingua in interlinglua” is stored on Geocities]. I believe that Panorama’s texts, which are found only in printed form, will eventually be lost more easily than the texts of “Interlingua multilingue” and possibly “Interlingua in interlingua.”

(When I started to learn Interlingua, I noted that Esperantists had a much larger quantity of texts than Interlinguists did, and I decided to do what I could to remedy this situation. My strategy was first to store in “Interlingua in interlingua” Panorama’s texts on science and travel. Afterwards, I elaborated my conversation course, which can now be found in various places in the Net [the best version of this course is the one that was re-edited by Eric Enfors]. When my access to the Net improved sufficiently, I then started to publish “Interligua multilingue”.)

I have always wanted all these bibliographic resources to be easily offered to the international public completely without economic or electronic barriers. It is regrettable that a lot of texts of our literature are available only through the Union Mundial de Interlingua’s Servicio de Libros. I believe that it is very important that Google digitalize them to improve their availability. But with only my own texts published on the Internet up to now, excellent new courses of instruction for the Interlinguists of the future can be easily elaborated by others. (Harleigh Kyson Jr.)
