(Languages of this post: Interlingua, Latin, English)

Ille dice a illa, "Proque plora tu?

Sanctus Georgius draconem occidit, salvatque Lisiam

Sanctus Georgius invenit puellam sedentem propre lacum et valde plorantem. Et dicit ei: "Cur ploras? Cur sedes tu, femina tam pulchra, in indigno loco isto?"

Post haec audit sanctus Georgius rugitum magnum in aqua. Puella exclamat voce magna: "Domine, fuge velociter: Malignus draco nunc venit." Sanctus Georgius festinans ad eum facit signum Sanctae Crucis, dicens, "Domine Deus, da mihi virtutem contra draconem istum. Auxilio tuo eum superabo."

Populas clamat, "Credimus! Credimus!" Tunc sanctus Georgius amputat caput draconis.

Saint George kills a dragan and saves Lisia.

Saint George runs into a girl sitting near a lake who was crying bitterly, and he says to her, "Why are you crying like that?" Why are you sitting in this awful place?"

And the girl responds, "Sir, this is the city of Lisia, which is very good and excellent, and filled with all good things. But it has in it one very great evil which overcomes all other bad things. A very cruel dragon lives in the water and comes out every day and fights the emperor and the people and eats many of them up. All citizens have given up all their sons to it, and my father is giving up his only daughter."

But Saint George, raising his eyes to heaven, calls upon God, saying, "Show me a sign now of your great mercy, and send me this evil beast." Then a voice from heaven comes to him, saying, "George, I hear your prayer, and I'll do what you want."

After this there is a great roar in the water, and the girl shouts, "Sir, you'd better get out of here; the evil dragon is coming." Saint George, rushing toward it, makes the sign of the cross, saying, "Lord God, give me the power I need to overcome this dragon. With your help I'm sure I can do it."

When he says this, the dragon suddenly falls before his feet. He says to the girl: "Untie your belt and my bridle and bring them to me." She unties and hands over her belt and the bridle. Saint George says, "Take hold of the dragon and walk with it through the middle of the city."

When the people see this great miracle, the holy man shouts out, "Don't be afraid! Just believe in the living God and in Jesus Christ, his Son, and I will kill the dragon." The people shout, "We believe! We believe!" Then Saint George cuts the dragon's head off.
