(Languages of this post: Interlingua, English)

For learning any language, many texts are necessary for study. Since I started my own studies of Interlingua, I dedicated myself to producing collections of texts and courses for the use of students of Interlingua.

Perhaps the most important publication that I have elaborated is “Interlingua in interlingua,” a collection of texts from the magazine “Panorama” on the sciences, traveling and tourism, and interlinguistics. Many of these texts are re-edited.

“Interlingua in Interlingua” also contains an eighteen-chapter course titled “Lege interlingua e apprende su structura” (Read Interlingua and Learn its Structure). The grammar of Interlingua is so simple that a person can learn it very easily just by reading clear and easy texts in the language with a minimum of grammar exercises.

The first chapters of this course start with a text for reading and end with structural notes. The final chapters of the course have no need for structural notes and have only a series of summaries of the history of the twentieth century. Its URL is [http://www.geocities.com/hkyson].

My second important publication is a course of conversation in Interlingua that is very similar to a radio play. It is principally the history of two protagonists, Catherina and Petro, who work for Marex Mundial, a company specializing in systems of urban transport. The course is in eighteen parts, and each part has six scenes. Its URL is [http://www.interlingua.com/e-libros-conversation].

Before each scene is a summary of its content. After most of the scenes there is a small exercise that explains some of the characteristics of Interlingua used in the scenes. The course has a guide learning spoken Interlingua exactly the way you are who explains the purpose of the exercises.

You can read this course, preferably with other people as if you were having a conversation with them. Since the grammar of Interlingua is very simple, you will be able to learn it inductively as you use the course without the need for notes on grammar in the course itself.

There are many pedagogical resources on the Internet for studying Interlingua, and all of them are good. But if all of them disappeared and only “Interlingua in Interlingua” and my conversation course survived, with only these two publications you would have a great amount of documentation of the language—more than enough to revive it in case of necessity, and all these resources for studying Interlingua are very quickly available on the Internet at absolutely no cost!
